RS aims to provide students with a thorough grounding into the main concepts, themes and arguments associated with the subject. The course requires candidates to demonstrate a range and depth of knowledge and understanding, a greater maturity of thought and expression and more developed analytical skills. Students will investigate and form reasoned responses to fundamental questions such as: How should I live? Is there such a thing as moral truth? Are our choices truly free? Can God’s existence be proved philosophically? Can a war ever be truly just? and What do we mean when we talk about life after death?
- For students who achieve a minimum of 8 full course GCSEs to include at least 4 at grade 8 and 4 at grade 7, with a minimum grade 5 in English language and mathematics, it is possible to opt for a fourth A-level subject or to complete the EPQ. - Must have studied Full or Short-Course GCSE RS and achieved a grade 6.
