All new learners interested in Beauty will start on either the Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy or the Level 2 Technical Certificate in Beauty Therapy, and will study theoretical aspects of the subject to apply to practical tasks. Learners will be correct on the correct study programme dependant on GCSE grades achieved.
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 including mathsand English or a vocational qualification Level 1, plus GCSE grade D/3 in both maths and English. English & maths Functional Skills Level 1 will be accepted as an alternative to GCSEs.
All Technical Qualifications are graded (Pass, Merit and Distinction and Distinction*) by an external Synoptic assessment. This includes: Written theory paper Practical examination Milestone assessment points will track learner progress in preparation for the end exams including written tests and assignments, spoken questioning, practical skills demonstrations and a mock assessment. For Level 3 qualifications, ALL grade levels carry UCAS points to support progression to higher education.
