Course summary

The course covers three different topics, and a range of skills such as analysis, evaluation, constructing an argument, and understanding and evaluating historical sources and interpretations. • Russia and its Rulers 1855-1964 – a study of change and continuity across 100 years of Russian history, covering both Tsars and Communists • Lancastrians, Yorkists and Tudors 1450-1509 – an depth study of the turbulent period known as the Wars of the Roses • Democracy and Dictatorship in Germany 1919-1963 – covering the changing face of Germany during the 20th century, including the Weimar Republic, Nazi Germany and the post-war Cold War period. • Post-War Civil Rights in the USA.

Entry requirements

If GCSE history has been studied, a Grade 6 or higher is required. If history GCSE has not been studied a Grade 6 in either English language or English literature is required.
