Sociology is the study of the origin, development, organisation and functioning of human society. It looks at the science of the fundamental laws of social relations and institutions such as the education system, the justice system and families. Sociology investigates a range of topics such as; gender, stereotyping, race and ethnicity, social inequality, racism, sexism, domestic violence, lone parents, marriage and divorce and childhood, just to name a few! These are all explored using theories and real-life examples that are written about, as well as debated.
