This course is for people who are curious about how products function, how they are manufactured and how they impact the world around us. You will study a wide range of design and technology principles, including how designers tackle projects, manufacturing resources and processes; electronics, graphics (including Computer Aided Design), ergonomics, and the economic, training and resource implications of scale of production. You will design, make and evaluate a product, a marketing presentation, and a review and reflection. This coursework unit is intended to draw upon and develop skills learnt in other units. You will also be tested on your understanding of areas including manufacturing systems, the use of digital technology, commercial practice, legislation and health and safety.
