Underpinning the qualification is a focus on core values and communicating with individuals to maintain their dignity and sense of being valued. Students apply their skills and knowledge to offer appropriate care and support and build positive relationships to meet the needs of those they are working with.
Achieved a grade 4 English Language and Math qualification and a minimum of three other Level 2 qualifications at grade 4 or above. 16-19 Level 3 course entry requirements and at least 4-3 in Combined Science.
Year 12 – Certificate equivalent to an AS Unit 1: Building positive relationships in H&SC (60 GLH, coursework unit). Unit 2: Equality, Diversity, and Rights in H&SC (60 GLH, externally examined paper). Unit 3: Health, Safety, and Security in H&SC (60 GLH, externally examined paper). Year 13 – Extended Certificate equivalent to an A-level Unit 4: Anatomy and Physiology (90 GLH, externally examined paper). Unit 22: Psychology for H&SC (60 GLH, coursework). Unit 24: Public Health (30 GLH, coursework).
