The Psychology A-Level course is an exciting opportunity to study concepts that affect all of us in our daily lives. Each lesson looks at an aspect of human experience and explores research and theories relating to that topic. Students are encouraged to question ideas and challenge assumptions in the light of new evidence. A whole range of topical subjects are considered including criminal behavior; social media, mental health, and wellbeing; and the causes and treatments for psychological disorders, such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, and phobia. Psychology complements a range of subject choices and vocations. Over the course of the year, you will encounter aspects of Biology, History, English Literature, Maths, Art, and Drama. The course will help you to develop skills related to a range of disciplines, including debating, essay and report writing, designing experiments, and data analysis. The A-Level can provide you with skills and knowledge in preparation for careers in the criminal justice system, medicine, social care, finance, research, and business.
