This course is primarily designed for school leavers who wish to enter the construction industry as technical apprentices or progress directly to university to study a range of degrees such as Project Management, Surveying, Architecture or Building Services Engineering. You will study how to design a variety of building services such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical systems and plumbing.There will be field trips to visit current buildings in order to widen your knowledge of building service systems. The course will be completed over a two period, the first year as a Subsidiary Diploma where 6 units will be completed and the second year as the Extended Diploma to cover a further 18 units.The main benefit of this programme is the wide range of careers available to you within the construction industry.
4 GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above (including maths and/or English Lanuage).
By projects and assignments, interviews, presentations and course work marked by college tutors and externally verified by BTEC Assessors. Successful completion of the course will lead to careers as Architects, Architectural Technologists, Project Managers, Design Engineers for Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning, Electrical Systems, Control Systems, Mechanical Services as well as Quantity Surveying and Construction Site Management.
