New learners interested in hairdressing with a good level of maths and English will start on a Level 2 qualification. Level 2 Certificate in Hairdressing: This qualification is a basic introduction within a commercial Hair or Barbering environment and includes a variety of basic hairdressing skills - such as shampooing, hair and scalp consultation, basic cutting, styling and dressing hair and a basic introduction to colour.
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at grades A-C/4-9 (including mathsand English) or a vocational qualificationLevel 2, plus GCSE grade C/4 in both maths and English
Level 2 Certificate in Hairdressing Continuous assessment includes: Practical observations Externally set paper based/online modular tests Verbal questioning. ALL technical qualifications are graded (Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction*) by external end point assessments (EPAs).
