Course summary

During this course, you will cover the following: - Carrying out first fixing operations - Carrying out maintenance to non-structural carpentry work - Carrying out second fixing operations - Carrying out structural carcassing operations - Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries - Preparing and using carpentry and joinery portable power tools - Understanding construction technology - Understanding information, quantities and communication with others In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to gain some work experience within the construction industry.

Entry requirements

You should have successfully completed a level 1 Carpentry and Joinery qualification or have achieved a grade 4 or above in English and maths.

How you'll be assessed

During this course, you'll be assessed through an end of year exam and practical synoptic exercise.
