This course broadens and deepens the work done in A-level maths. Half of the content is pure mathematics and half is statistics and mechanics. These areas are studied in more detail as we explore concepts further and meet new topics such as: • Complex numbers • Matrices • Hyperbolic functions • Chi-squared tests • Momentum and impulse It is also popular to study Further Maths as a fourth subject with the aim of just sitting the AS exams rather than the full A-level.
8 or 9 at GCSE Mathematics with recommendation
A level assessment: • 2 x 1.5 hr pure maths exams • 1 x 1.5 hr mechanics exam • 1 x 1.5 hr statistics exam
