Course summary

Computer systems- types of software and different development methodologies, data types, structures and algorithms, and legal, moral, and ethical issues. 2. Algorithms and Problem-Solving - the study of elements of computational thinking, problem solving, programming, and algorithms. 3. Programming project - analysing design, develop, test evaluate, and document a program written in a suitable programming language.

Entry requirements

- Grade 6 in GCSE or if not previously studied a grade 7 in mathematics and by agreement with the Head of Department - At least a grade 5 in English (Language or Literature) and 4 in mathematics, or a grade 5 in mathematics and 4 in English (Language or Literature); - A minimum GCSE Best 8 Point Score of 35.

Paper 1: Written Paper - 2 hours 30 minutes- (40%) Paper 2: Written Paper - 2 hours 30 minutes - (40%) Paper 3: Programming project -non-exam assessment (20%)
