Course summary

The course will start in September and will take one year to complete. This course will take place at our STEM Centre Campus, Pocket Nook Street, St Helens, WA9 1TT. During this one year course, you will gain an understanding of the various aspects of animal management through a number of units such as: - Animal health and wellbeing - Preparing and maintaining animal accommodation - Preparing and providing animal food - Health and safety

Entry requirements

You should have three GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English or maths, and preferably a minimum of three days voluntary experience within the animal sector. Achieving a good standard of English and maths is a key requirement for many jobs, as well as for courses you may wish to progress on to. If you achieve below a grade 4 in your English and/or maths GCSEs at school, you will study it alongside your chosen course when you join us.

How you'll be assessed

During this course, you will be assessed by completed workbooks and practical assessments. Tutors will also support you to find and complete work experience, which will enhance your CV and boost your employability skills.
