What you’ll learn: Politics is about understanding power, people, and ideas. There are 3 main components to the course: 1. UK Politics • Political Participation • Democracy • Political parties • Electoral systems • Voting behavior • The media. 2. UK Government • The constitution • Powers of Parliament • Powers of the Prime Minister and executive • Relationships between the branches. 3. USA Politics • The US Constitution and federalism • US Congress • US presidency • US Supreme Court • US civil rights • US democracy and participation How you’ll learn: You’ll learn through high-quality teaching in the classroom which will be delivered in small chunks, which allow you to think deeply and apply all new knowledge so that it is fully secure. We also place a large emphasis on coaching you gradually to produce high quality essays. You will also learn through guided self-study which is designed to broaden your knowledge of political history and of current domestic and international affairs.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grades 5 and above. The standard entry requirement for A Level program, including a grade 5 in English and/or History.
