This course provides excellent preparation for careers within the sports and fitness industries and can support entry into higher education. It is a vocationally delivered course and therefore develops the skills and knowledge students will need to thrive in a professional sports and fitness environment. Course Content : Unit 2: Functional Anatomy Unit 3: Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology Unit 6: Coaching for Performance and Fitness Unit 8: Biomechanics in Sport
- Grade 5 in GCSE PE If not studied: grade 5 and grade 4 in GCSE English (Language or Literature) and Mathematics (either subject can be the grade 5) and have an interest in sport. Cannot be taken in combination with A-Level PE. - At least a grade 5 in English (Language or Literature) and 4 in mathematics, or a grade 5 in mathematics and 4 in English (Language or Literature); - A minimum GCSE Best 8 Point Score of 35.
The course consists of 4 units 2 units assessed through the submission of coursework 42% 2 units assessed through externally moderated exams and case studies 58%.
