Course summary

Overview of Course Biological Molecules: Students will learn about the basic building blocks of life. This is a practical-heavy section of the course where we focus much of our time on developing our investigative skills. Cells: Students will understand how cells function and interact both with each other and their external environment. Variation: Students will study the variation within a single species and in the variation of cell types within a single multicellular organism. Energy Transfer: Students learn about vast examples of energy transfers that exist in the natural world. Responding to Change: Students learn about how the body controls our processes. Genetics and Controlling genes: Students learn about the techniques that scientists use to manipulate genes and in doing so find treatments for disease.

Entry requirements

The entry requirements for our Level 3 courses are a grade 6 or above in the subject you are wishing to study, alongside a grade 5 or above in Maths and English.
