Unit: H555: A-level in Physical Education Physiological factors affecting performance (01) This section explores applied anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology and biomechanics. It contributes to 30% of the overall A-level. Psychological factors affecting performance (02) This section considers skill acquisition and sports psychology. It contributes to 20% of the overall A-level. Socio-cultural issues in physical activity and sport (03) The third section explores sport and society, contemporary issues in physical activity and sport. It contributes to 20% of the overall A-level. Performance in physical education (04) Candidates will be assessed in their performance or coaching in one activity. This unit will also include an Evaluation and Analysis of Performance for Improvement (EAPI) where candidates are required to complete an oral analysis of one activity by evaluating the performance and advising on how to improve. This practical unit will contribute to 30% of the overall A-level.
