The course is split into 2 components, core and specialism. You will learn subjects such as safeguarding, child development, supporting education, special educational needs and disability. You will learn how to plan, provide and review educational opportunities and support the class teacher to enhance children’s education. The course offers occupational specialism in supporting teaching in schools.
Entry requirements are a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and maths. A grade 4 or above is needed in science to progress to degrees in primary teaching at university.
