Course summary

You will study a full range of topics from Inorganic Physical and Organic branches of Chemistry. You will undertake frequent practical activities and also work extensively with ICT, model building, problem solving and working with others. You will use reasonable mathematical skills and develop your skills in observing analysing and evaluating evidence from your own experimental findings. At Cronton Sixth Form we have modern labs and students complete practical experiments every two weeks. You will study in the newly refurbished suite of teaching laboratories at the Mond Centre of Excellence for Science and Maths. The chemistry laboratories are fully refitted and have a range of new and sophisticated equipment. A team of highly experienced teachers have been recruited. All have held senior teaching posts in nationally recognized Beacon Colleges. They bring a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to lessons, and have the clear aim to be outstanding in all we do.
