This course will enable you to gain a foundational knowledge of childcare in the classroom. Working alongside others from a variety of early year settings learning about the value of play, child development, partnership with parents and building relationships with children. Opportunities to network with others and share good practice of your workplace and take part in college activities developing skills in ICT, English & Maths.
It is a government requirement that all Level 3 learners must possess a GCSE English (Language) & Maths A-C grade or Level 2 Functional Skills equivalent. As an adult learner it is your responsibility to ensure you have this in place before seeking employment at L3 at the end of your qualification. Learners should be at least 19 years of age with a good understanding of written and spoken English. Minimum 16 hours a week volunteering or working in an Early Years setting i.e Nursery, preschool or Reception class. Following the application a tutor from the Early Years team will contact you to arrange an interview to discuss your options.
