Course summary

Learn the practical horticulture skills required for a varied range of careers in the sector. You will build up your expertise in landscape gardening & management, as well as plant propagation and the care of trees. You will learn how to select which plants to use and when to plant them, growing plants from seeds or cuttings. The course is a mixture of classroom-based theory and practical hands-on experience, focusing on teaching you the skills needed to be a professional Horticulturist. You will visit garden centres, public parks & gardens, plus complete a work experience placement to help you develop your skills, confidence and knowledge of the industry.
