If you want to work in the plumbing industry, and are not already employed by a plumbing company, this course will provide you with a solid foundation to kick-start your career. During your studies you will learn mainly through practical activities, which are supported by theory sessions. These will build-up your skills until you are ready to undertake the assessment tasks. You will build and test plumbing systems, form and solder using copper tube and work safely throughout. The course covers the following topics: • Plumbing principles and processes • Hot and cold water systems theory • Pipe bending and joining • Installation of pipework and sanitary ware • Maintenance of components • Health and safety
4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above which must include English and maths. You will be invited to an interview to help us ensure the course is right for you.
Progress and achievement is recorded throughout the year via practical assessments, theory assessments, portfolio assessments and external tests.
