Studying German at A-level is an immensely rewarding challenge, allowing students to develop their cultural knowledge and linguistic skills. You will gain huge insight and knowledge of the country and culture through a range of topics, such as the digital world, TV, art, music, architecture, politics and Berlin's rich history and culture. You will also study a film - 'Das Leben der Anderen' and the novel - 'Der Vorleser', which not only enhance your language skills, but also compliment your work on German history and society. With access to a vast amount of resources and with dedicated professionals to guide you, the tutoring in languages at LRGS is very much personalised and dedicated to your needs. Whether it is through access to our online resources or our self-produced topic-specific study booklets, you will have everything you need to flourish and succeed in your studies. To give you the authentic experience, all of our Lower Sixth students have the opportunity to take part in the German exchange to Rendsburg. This will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the language and culture, as well as making friends and contacts which can last a lifetime. We visit Berlin to compliment our work on the capital's history and culture.
- 6 GCSE's Grade 6 and above - At least six grade 6s or better in the GCSE examinations plus a minimum of grade 5 in both English Language and Mathematics.
