Course summary

You will learn about the English legal system to start with and then the law surrounding non-fatal offences against the person (assault, battery, actual bodily harm (ABH) and grievous bodily harm (GBH)) and finally the law on negligence. You will need to read around the subject and complete detailed class notes. As the AS Law consists of 100% exam, you can expect to practice your essay writing and examination skills very regularly. You will also learn to analyse and breakdown problems and develop your logical thinking skills. There is also an element of debate to your Law studies.

Entry requirements

- At least 5 A – C grades at GCSE; including at least a C grade in English Language and a Humanities/EBacc subject (History, Geography, RE and/or a Modern Foreign Language). - 5+ GCSEs at grade 5+ (usually including English & Maths)
