Throughout your study you will take three business lessons a week during which you will study four different units across the two years of the course. In Year 12 you will study two units which will be assessed by a combination of coursework and examinations. If you successfully complete these units then you can progress onto Year 13 to complete the remaining two units which will again be assessed by a combination of coursework and externally assessed units.
Prior knowledge of Business Studies is not essential to progress onto the BTEC National Extended Certificate in Business but a C or above in GCSE Business Studies is desirable. You also need 5A*-C grades including English and Maths at GCSE to ensure that you are able to understand and then apply many of the business concepts within your work.
