The Diploma in Hair and Media Make-up is a qualification that has been specifically designed to enable you to learn both aspects of hairdressing and media make-up. This qualification will provide you with all the skills and techniques covering the following units; • Health and safety practice in the salon • Client care and communication in beauty-related industries • Applying make-up • The art of photographic make-up • The art of dressing hair • Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector • Body art design • Client consultation for hair services • Cut women's hair • Plaiting and twisting hair • Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp • Make and style a hair addition Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will be able to progress onto either a Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects and Hair and Media Make-Up or any of the following Level 2 qualifications; NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy General, NVQ Diploma in Nail Services, NVQ Diploma in Barbering.
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English or maths, and / or a prior achievement at Level 1.
You will be on a course where assessment of practical observations supports your programme of learning. You will build a portfolio of evidence and assessed continually through practical assessment, exams and assignments.
