Course summary

Mathematics A level students and graduates are in high demand by employers. Maths is the essential transferable component across all Science, Engineering, Technology and Maths subjects and is a highly respected A level choice. The course will develop your transferable skills, these being: Learning Skills ? ability to understand difficult concepts and apply them to a problem. Problem Solving Skills ? being able to present a solution clearly, take a flexible approach, tackle a problem with confidence and appreciate when to seek help. Self-management ? thorough approaches to work, time management, ability to work independently and determination. The course is challenging and it should be one of your main A level choice?s due to its rigorous nature. Just as important is that you have found mathematics interesting and enjoyable at GCSE. Thorough understanding of all algebraic topics at GCSE is required from the outset.

Entry requirements

- Five full course GCSE at Grade 6, in separate subjects at Grade 6 or higher (Core and Additional Science count as separate subjects. Short course GCSEs do not count towards the full course GCSE requirements). - Students should have a minimum of Grade 5 in both English Language and Mathematics. - Grade 7 or above in GCSE Mathematics Higher Tier papers
