BTEC Sport builds on courses that students may have studied at Key Stage 4 and develops understanding ready for Higher Education. It aims to: Develop and prepare students for life outside education linking anatomy and physiology, fitness training, sports injury management, sports business and professional development alongside many more sections linked to the sporting world. Inspire and nurture talented footballers through our link with Sheringham Football Club in both academic teaching and practical coaching.
We ask for 5 GCSE grades 9-4 but will accept students who need to retake Maths and/or English Language GCSE.
This course is 360 Guided Learning Hours (GLH), in which 4 units are completed of which 3 are mandatory and two are exams. This course can also be upgraded to the Diploma in Sport (Equivalent to two A-Levels). The units covered are: Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness training and programming, Professional development in the sports industry, plus one unit decided at the start of the course to suit the needs and interests of the group.
