Course summary

Maths is for everyone. It is diverse, engaging and essential in equipping students with the right skills to reach their future destination, whatever that may be. Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) helps to develop students’ mathematical skills and thinking and supports courses such as A-level Psychology, Sciences, Business and Geography as well as technical and vocational qualifications.

Entry requirements

For all advanced level (Level 3) courses such as GCE A levels and BTEC Level 3, the entry requirement will be 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above (including Maths and English). For most subjects a GCSE grade 9—6 is required in the chosen or related subject or a merit at a BTEC Level 2. Students will require a grade 5 (or above) in GCSE Mathematics, ideally at a higher tier.

How you'll be assessed

Two written exams, each 1.5 hours long.
