Course summary

If you want to create an amazing opportunity for your future career whilst advancing your knowledge and skills in this art and design, then this course is for you! You will study a diverse range of subjects such as sculpture, fashion, fine art, printmaking, 3D design, textiles, plus many more. You will find this course challenging but exciting and it is a great alternative to traditional A Levels. This practical course provides you with the opportunity to experience and to experiment with a range of art and design disciplines allowing you to communicate your ideas and imagination through a variety of means including sculpture, fashion, fine art, textiles, 3D design, photography, and print. Communicate your ideas and imagination through a variety of means including: - Sculpture - Fashion - Fine art - Textiles - 3D Design - Photography You will also investigate contextual influences and learn how to reflect on your own practice whilst discussing the work of others. During your study you will build an impressive portfolio of work to help you achieve your next step, whether that be one of the many jobs in the creative industry or going on to study art and design at university.

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grades 4/C or above, including English and Maths and an arts or media based subject. Or Merit in a relevant Level 2 course. In order to be offered a place on the course, you must also successfully complete a portfolio of your practice showing your skills. Further information will be sent to you when you are offered an interview date. Should entry requirements not be met we are open to review an applicant’s grades/achievements on an individual basis and take into account creative ability.

How you'll be assessed

Assessment is continuous and an integral part of the learning process. Ongoing assessment provides opportunities to monitor your progress and identify strengths and weaknesses. Grades are given for each unit which will count towards the final grade and UCAS points.
