A desire to learn about plays and their performance is required, together with an interest in all aspects of Drama and Theatre. The course also requires the will and ability to work unsupervised, both as an individual and part of the group, for the practical element. Involvement in and/or experience of theatre or theatre groups would be a great advantage. As part of the course, students will be required to make as many theatre visits as possible, both through the school and through their own efforts and they must be prepared to give up a proportion of time outside school hours when a performance/examination is being rehearsed. An understanding of the responsibility of the individual to the group is essential.
All students are required to gain AT LEAST 6 GCSE grades 9 - 4 (or equivalent) Including: ● At least one Grade 6 in any subject ● A minimum of a Grade 4 (good pass), in English and/or Mathematics, however Grade 5 is preferable Grade 5 in Drama / Grade 4 in English with teacher recommendation
