Fine Art offers opportunities to use your creativity to express yourself. This course enables you to work independently and to make your own discoveries by exploring ideas, other artists’ work and different materials and techniques. GCSE Art and Design: GCSE grade 6 or above in Art and GCSE grade 5 in English.
Component 1: Personal Investigation - 96 marks (60%) A personal investigation into the ideas, issues, concept and themes of a chosen topic Artwork is supported by written material documenting the investigation Component 2: Externally-Set Assignment - preparatory period plus 15hrs supervised time, 96 marks (40%) Production of personal work in response to a topic set by the exam board (8 to choose from) Artwork is supported by written material documenting the process Production of a complete artwork, the final piece for Component 2 The exam is sat over at least 3 days, at the end of the course
