If you want to study sport at college or university or are considering a career in sport this will be an excellent course for you. A level PE will improve knowledge and understanding of the physical, social and psychological factors which affect participation and performance in sporting activities. Furthermore, the knowledge you will gain will make your decision making an overall performance in your chosen sport much more effective. A level PE will be a suitable choice for you if you have a keen interest in a variety of sports and topical issues regarding sport and exercise. It is essential you are committed to at least one physical activity which should involve you training and competing on a weekly basis.
4 in English Language, 5 in Science and an average point score of 4. If GCSE PE has been taken, at least a 4 must have been achieved.
Assessment will be by means of written papers along with an assessment of your performance or coaching ability. You will also be assessed on your ability to observe an individual's live or recorded performance and propose a viable development plan to improve that performance.
