Course summary

Graphics A-Level is the process of visual communication and problem-solving through the use of type, space and image. Graphic Design is all around us – the packaging we use, lettering, illustration, labels and brands that we see every day.

Entry requirements

At least five 5s at GCSE, including at least a 5 in any GCSE Art subject, as listed below (NOT Graphic Products). If you have not previously studied GCSE Art or Graphic Design, we will send out a mini-portfolio task for you to complete after you have finished your GCSEs in June. For entry onto Graphics we accept a Grade 5 in the following subjects • GCSE Art • GCSE Fine Art • GCSE Art and Design • GCSE Photography • GCSE Graphics • GCSE Textiles • Distinction in BTEC Art • Distinction in BTEC Art & Design Have you considered studying a Mixed Programme (A-Levels and Btecs) Whether you’re on target to achieve five 5s in your GCSEs or not there may still be an option to study A-Levels alongside a BTEC qualification at Newman.
