Do you want to consider a career working in sport? If you have a keen interest in sport and have studied either GCSE PE or BTEC in sport then this course may be suitable for you. You will develop the knowledge, understanding and essential skills required for gaining employment or to go on to an undergraduate degree or other higher education course. The course comprises of three core units and two optional units which may be studied over two years. Core mandatory units are: Body systems and the effects of physical activity, Sports coaching and activity leadership, Sports organisation and development. Optional units are: Organisation of sports events and Sports injuries and rehabilitation.
4 in English if the subject has not been taken before. Level 2 Pass in a vocational course in the subject if taken
Two of these units are assessed via an exam and the other two are assessed via coursework. Body systems and the effects of physical activity is a 1 hour and 30 minute exam, and Sports organisation and development is a 1 hour exam.
