This course will give you a broad knowledge and understanding of the social processes and social change that affect your everyday life. You will be encouraged to see the links between the different areas of Sociology and to develop your own sociological awareness through active engagement with the contemporary social world. Sociology is a subject you can relate to. It's relevant to your everyday life, so you can immediately engage with the subject even if you haven't studied it before. It will encourage you to develop critical and reflective thinking skills and a respect for social diversity.
- At least grade 6 or higher in either English Language or English Literature, and (ideally) in a Humanities subject • Passes at grade 4 or above in English Language (not English Literature) and Mathematics • At least six GCSE passes at Grade 5 to 9 • A Grade 6 or above in the subjects the student wishes to study at Advanced level or in any prerequisite subjects
Written examination externally assessed by the awarding body.
