Course summary

This BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Applied Law is equivalent in size to one A-Level. The course consists of 4 core units, 3 mandatory units and a choice of specialist units. This qualification is following new specifications and as such the units may be subject to change.

Entry requirements

Entry Requirements for Sixth Form to study 3 A-Level/BTEC courses are a minimum of 5 GCSEs including 3 at Grade 5 and 2 at Grade 4 or better. Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 including English Language, Mathematics at grade 4

How you'll be assessed

Units 1 and 3 are externally assessed. Students will have two weeks to prepare a case study for these units and will then complete their answers in timed examination conditions. These are then assessed by the exam board. Units 2 and 4 are internally assessed. Students work through the case studies in class and in their own time and the work is then assessed by the class teacher and subject to external verification.
