The course is designed to continue and extend the practices established in GCSE. It is based on actual experiences and involvement in the activities of Listening, Composing and Performing, combined with studies of set works and Compositional techniques. Commitment to, and involvement in, extra-curricular musical activities is expected. These include Senior Orchestra, Senior Choir, A Cappella Choir, String Ensemble, Jazz Band, Flute Choir and occasional combined concerts with other establishments.
- GCSE Grade 6 or above in Music - Five full course GCSE at Grade 6, in separate subjects at Grade 6 or higher (Core and Additional Science count as separate subjects. Short course GCSEs do not count towards the full course GCSE requirements). - Students should have a minimum of Grade 5 in both English Language and Mathematics.
