Course summary

A Level Classics has been designed to provide students with a broad, coherent, and rewarding study of the literature and culture of the classical world. It involves the study of the works of major Greek and Roman authors in English translation. Component 1: The World of the Hero - Homer’s Iliad or Odyssey, Virgil’s Aerneid Component 2: Culture and the Arts - Greek Theatre Component 3: Beliefs and Ideas - Love and Relationships

Entry requirements

- A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or equivalent, including English Language or Mathematics are required to study vocational subjects. Requirements are higher for A Levels and subject specific requirements apply for some subjects. Entry criteria will be discussed in more detail during your Sixth Form interview.
