The study of Chemistry opens up many career prospects in the chemical industry e.g. oil industry, cosmetic and household products, polymers, construction, heavy industry and speciality chemicals. It is also a pre-requisite for other careers which are not exclusively chemistry based such as medicine, veterinary, dentistry, pharmacy, biochemistry, forensic science and engineering.
● have a minimum GCSE/BTEC Total Point Score (TPS) of 32 (see below) ● meet the subject-specific entry criteria; ● have a full programme of study with 3 A Level courses or equivalent. The most able students have the option of studying a fourth subject. Grade 5 in GCSE English and Maths and Grade 6/6 in Double Science or Grade 6 in Chemistry.
All exams will be taken at the end of Year 13.
