A Level 3 BTEC National Diploma is a practical, work-related course. Students learn by completing internally assessed projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. They will also undertake external assessments in the form of examinations and set tasks marked by the Examination Board. It is equivalent to two A Levels and will be taken as a two-year full-time course. The course is made up of eight units – four core units, which everyone takes, and four specialist units. The specialist units enable you to study particular areas in more depth.
4 GCSEs minimum grade 4 or Level 2 BTEC Diploma minimum grade of a Merit. A grade 4 in GCSE English Language or GCSE English Literature and Mathematics is recommended.
