The course will allow you to develop your fluency in French through the study of very engaging topics that will cover technological and social change in the French society, looking at diversity and the benefits it brings. You will also study highlights of French-speaking artistic culture, including francophone music and cinema, and will learn about political engagement and who wields political power in the French-speaking world. Throughout your studies, you will learn the language in the context of French-speaking countries and the issues and influences which have shaped them. You will study The Outsider by Albert Camus and La Haine by Matthieu Kassovitz.
To take three subjects at Post-16 you will need to have achieved 5-7 GCSEs at Grade 4/5 or above including Maths and English. To take four subjects at Post-16 you will need to have achieved 6 GCSEs at Grade 6 or above including Maths and English. You will be expected to have achieved at least a Grade 5 at GCSE for every subject you take at A Level. Grade 6 in GCSE French
