Core Mathematics, also known as Mathematics in Context, is equivalent to an AS-Level and is all about applying Mathematics to real-life scenarios. The course is very practical, including topics such as finances, statistics, spreadsheets and everyday estimation, and will set you up well for the mathematical content you will encounter in your other A-Levels. As a one year course, we have 6 lessons a fortnight, and it studied in addition to three other options.
To take three subjects at Post-16 you will need to have achieved 5-7 GCSEs at Grade 4/5 or above including Maths and English. To take four subjects at Post-16 you will need to have achieved 6 GCSEs at Grade 6 or above including Maths and English.
