We are all consumers who are exposed to the decisions of Businesses everyday but what is the rationale behind the strategies they employ? Business Studies at A level offers students the opportunity to understand how Businesses operate in a variety of contexts; whether small or large, UK or global focussed, service or manufacturing, businesses have to make crucial decisions that will affect their success. A level business develops analytical and evaluative skills of contemporary issues that students will be able to apply in a real world context. Business Studies complements many other subjects such as Economics and humanities, drawing upon a range of academic disciplines including both maths and English. It is valuable to students wishing to pursue degrees and careers in finance, business management, human resources, marketing, logistics or production.
- We require at least a B in both maths and English. You will need to be keen to study current affairs with a Business focus. You do NOT need to have done Business at GCSE to do A level. - At least eight GCSEs (including English (Language or Literature) and Mathematics at a minimum of Grade 6)
As this is an essay based subject and there is mathematical contact, it is recommended that students have at least level 6 in both mathematics and english.
