Course summary

A-level Accounting is not just for students who want to have a career as an accountant. It helps you to develop a deep knowledge of how businesses work and how to help businesses to become more efficient and successful. Whether you eventually run your own business as a sole trader or work in finance or management for a giant multi-national corporation, understanding accounting will help you. As well as learning how to maintain a company's accounts, you will learn how to evaluate and write reports on the company's finances. The course helps students to understand the responsibilities of the accountant and the impact of their recommendations on the business and the wider environment. Students will build knowledge and understanding of key concepts, principles and techniques that they can apply to real-life scenarios, developing the ability to solve problems logically, analyse data methodically, make reasoned choices and communicate effectively.

Entry requirements

Grade 5 in English Language and Grade 6 in Maths.
