Course summary

Mathematics has proven incredibly useful in just about every field of human endeavour. It is used in science and exploration, in business and government, in industry and in forecasting. It provides excellent training for the mind, requiring precise and accurate work, clear logical thought, and problem-solving skills. This course will prepare students for higher education and stimulate the interest of keen mathematicians. It features modules such as pure mathematics, algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry and numerical methods. This enables students a fuller appreciation of mathematics and a wider range of skills to take into further study or the job market.

At least a grade 6 in Maths

How you'll be assessed

The course is assessed through 3 papers taken in the summer of Year 13. There is a 2:1 split with pure mathematics and applied mathematics (Statistics and mechanics).
