Units you will study include: • Fundamentals of IT (exam) • Global information (exam) Units you may study include: • Cyber security (exam) • Application design • Project management • Project development • Mobile technologies • Social media • Digital marketing • Games design and prototyping • Internet of everything The emphasis in lessons will be on investigation and problem solving more than note-taking. Assessments will require research, analysis and investigation and using suitable software and hardware. Practical IT skills will be developed during the course. Throughout the course there will be contact with business organisations to include visits and speakers. Use will also be made of the IT support facilities and staff in the college.
Grades 9-4 in English and Maths and two or more GCSEs at grades 9-4. Merit or above in a relevant Level 2 qualification will also be accepted.
A mixture of exam and internally assessed coursework.
