German A Level has been developed to inspire all students to have an appreciation of the language, literature, film and culture of the German-speaking world. You will develop an advanced level of knowledge and understanding of the German language as well as practical and valuable language skills. We focus on many interesting topics including immigration, integration, changes in society and the recent history and current politics of Germany.
Grade 6 in German or interview with Mme Reynes/Dr Bown if not achieved.
• Paper 1: Listening, Reading and Translation (40%) – 2 hours • Paper 2: Written response to literary book/film studied and Translation (30%) – 2 hours 40 minutes • Paper 3: Speaking (internally conducted & externally assessed) (30%) – 22 minutes
