Course summary

We live in a dynamic world that is continually changing. As global citizens we all have a role in this and the changes impact every one of us. Studying A Level Geography will help you to understand the causes, consequences and possible management approaches to what we are experiencing. The course is designed to develop your knowledge, understanding and opinions on a broad range of global issues including the earth's places, peoples, environments and societies. It will be a balance of physical and human Geography. Likely topics include hazards, climate change, rivers, population, settlement, coasts, globalisation and sustainability. There is also a strong fieldwork element which will be written up in lessons. As Geography bridges the gap between social and physical sciences it complements a wide range of other A Level subjects.
