Course summary

Measurements and their errors, particles and radiation, Waves, mechanics and materials, electricity, further mechanics and thermal physics, fields and their consequences, and nuclear physics. Options: astrophysics’, medical physics, engineering physics, turning points in physics’, and electronics.

Entry requirements

To gain entry into the Taverham Sixth Form for A-level studies, you will need six Grade 4s or above in your GCSEs which must include GCSE English Language and Maths. In a subject that you have taken at GCSE and wish to continue, Grade 5 is recommended in that subject. Attitude to learning and attendance at GCSE will be taken into account when looking at progression within a subject. In essay-based subjects, we strongly recommend a Grade 5 in English. In science-based subjects, we strongly recommend a Grade 5 in maths.
